Christmas Eve Massacre

On a quiet street in Covina CA. a man dressed in a Santa suite knocked on the door and when an 8 year old girl opened the door, Santa shot her in the face.
Bruce Jeffery Pardo, went to his ex in-laws and crashed their party. Not only did he go through the house gunning people down, the present he was carrying was a tank of flammable material. He set the house on fire, before fleeing to his brother's house.
Police latter found Pardo dead of an apparent self inflicted gun shot. Police also found another tank like the one used in the attack. The tank was originally used for ATV Vehicles.
Among the missing are ex-wife Sylvia 43, parents Joseph Ortega 80, Alicia Ortega 70.
Bruce Jeffery Pardo was scheduled to be an usher at his church that night at midnight. Neighbors and those that knew Pardo are shocked and can't believe that he could do such a horrible thing.
A ninth body was recovered today. Police are still searching for clues to what caused Pardo to snap and wreck such havoc upon the Ortega family. He had gone through a bitter divorce with his ex-wife.
Pardo used a semi-automatic weapon and I wonder if we can look at gun laws and realize the Gun Lobby is somewhat responsible. What are semi-automatics really used for and by? Hunting and Hunters? Sport?
Some people shouldn't own guns. I am one of them. I used to get road rage, terribly. I would be illogical and irrational and make stupid choices. I have flipped off plenty of people, but never shot anyone. Why, because I don't own a gun. I have also gone through horrible bouts of depression and have been suicidal. I don't trust myself with a gun.
I'm not anti-gun, in fact, I think shooting is fun. I grew up in Wyoming and guns were a daily fact of life, but should the NRA hold all the cards in the public's gun debate. This is capitalism at it's worst. When common sense is over ruled by a lobby, who doesn't want their marketplace limited. Going back to the question, who needs a semi-automatic?
